Tournament Office
The Tournament Office, located above the Pro Shop, opens at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday December 5, 2017, and on subsequent days at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. daily.
Registration
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 5, 2017 in the Tournament Office and continues on Wednesday December 6, 2017 until 1:00 p.m. Late entries may be accepted.
Caddies
Caddy fees are to be paid by the players to their caddie at the end of play each day. After completing the registration process, players can then proceed to the Caddy Master to request a Caddy. Half Moon can provide a Caddy for each of the Players. If you wish to request a caddy that you have worked with before please give their name to the Caddy Master. Only caddies that are registered will be allowed to work in the tournament.
Daily Caddy Fee: US$40.00, to be paid to the Caddie at the end of play each day.
Gratuities: Are at the sole discretion of the Player, it is however recommended that these if granted, are paid to the caddie at the end of play each day.
Carts
Players are not permitted to use Carts in the Jamaica Open unless approved by the Tournament Director, should a player have a medical condition requiring him to use a cart it will only be considered on the presentation of a medical certificate to the Tournament Director at the time of registration. If use of a cart is approved, the Pro Shop will be advised and you will be permitted to rent a cart for use in the tournament.
Practice Rounds
The Official Practice Day is Wednesday, December 6, 2017, and will begin with a shotgun start at 7:00 am to accommodate the Pro-Am. Which will start at 12:00 pm later that day. Players, who arrive late for the practice round may not be able to play an entire round but will be accommodated. Players will be required to finish practice by 11:30 am and exit the golf course Additional practice rounds must be booked at the Pro Shop and the rate is US$45.00 per round for green fees, plus caddy fee, plus cart fee.
Please give priority to the safety of the Maintenance staff working on the Course during Practice. Please also note that the Golf/Driving Range opens at 7:00am and closes at 4:00 p.m. each day. The use of the practice range and the practice balls are included in the Tournament package.
“Please note IRONS SHOTS ONLY, NO (WOODS or HYBRIDS) are to be played on the practice range. This is a safety concern regarding persons on the 10th Hole. THIS IS MANDATORY.”
Putting Green
The grass on the practice putting green, has a different texture to the grass on the putting greens on the course. However putting speed will be similar.
Hospitality
All players may access the Hospitality Lounge, adjacent to the 19th Hole Bar. The Lounge will be opened daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Thursday December 7, to Saturday December 9. At registration, players will be issued with credentials.
Opening Ceremony
All players and a guest are invited to the Opening Ceremony to be held at the 19th Hole Bar immediately following the Pro-Am on Wednesday December 6, 2017, from 6pm onwards.
Prize Purses
For safety and convenience of the players, prizes over, $2,000.00 will be paid by wire transfer. Prizes go to the top 50% of a full field of 100 (this includes payout of Senior Pool). The prize winners will receive a symbolic envelope at Prize Giving, which they will use to collect their prize in the Tournament Office after the ceremony. All other prizes will be paid in cash. Tie for top pro will be decided by sudden death playoff.
Senior Pool
Senior players are categorized as those players who are 50 years and older as at December 31, 2016. Senior purse is $6,000 paid as follows: First $2,400.00, Second $1,500, Third $1,200, Fourth $900. Tie for first is to be decided by sudden death. The Pool is a fixed amount. Therefore, ties for lower placings will split the prize payout, e.g. if 2 persons place 4th, they each get $450.00 each.
Players will only receive one prize. In the event that a senior player qualifies for a prize in the Jamaica Open pool, then the senior professional will receive the greater of the senior pool prize or the main pool prize.
Where a senior player receives a prize in the main pool, he will not be considered for the senior pool.
Play
First Day pairings will be by draw and Second and Third Day’s will be by score. The pairings for the first day will be posted on the Notice Board outside the Pro Shop and in the VIP Lounge by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening December 6, 2017. For the second and third days, results will be posted at the end of the previous day’s play and will indicate starting times for the next day. Daily pairings will also be posted on the website (www.thejgatour.com) and in the Half Moon lobby. If we are unable to complete the 54 holes, the Tournament will be officially a 36-hole tournament.

On Course Hydration
There are 4 hydration stations on the course Holes No 1, No 6, No. 10 & No12.
Conduct
Players are expected to observe the Rules of Golf and proper etiquette on the golf course. The use of cellular phones are only allowed to be used to call an official or for emergency. (This also applies to caddies).Distance measuring devices are permitted. Players and Caddies should be properly attired in a collared golf shirt and slacks or tailored shorts. No jeans are allowed.

Format & Conditions
The JAMAICA OPEN is a Professional Championship a 54-hole Stroke play Tournament. The Championship field will comprise of a maximum of 111 Players. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole “sudden death” play-off will take place immediately, commencing on Hole No. 18 continuing on the same hole until a winner is decided. Other ties will be decided by scorecard.
